Aborigines would make leaves into a poultice and apply them to ease joint pain , this was also reported to speed up healing, skin conditions, wounds and infections.

Respiratory infections, colds and sinus congestion were treated by inhaling the vapours of steamed leaves, also used to help  treat rheumatism the leaves were made into beds or used in steam pits heated by fire.
