Lemongrass has been used in cooking and herbal medicine for at least five thousand years. In India it has been used for a variety of medical conditions. The plant also has deep history in Asian and African cultures as well. Lemongrass has been cultivated in Southeast Asia for the past two thousand years. It would be mixed with other herbs to make a tea and used would use as a beverage to treat fevers, irregular menstruation, diarrhoea and stomach aches. As well as using the oil to treat fungal and skin infections. China also used Lemongrass in similar ways helping to treat colds & muscular aches & pains. There are reports that the essential oil was being exported by the Philippines as early as the 17^th Century.

It was only in 1905 when the researcher J F Jovit started to research this plant & its oils that the word about this plant spread and by 1947 it was being commercially in Florida & Haiti.

Due to its analgesic, antimicrobial, diuretic, astringent, and nervine properties. It has been reported that it may help to relieve pain, including, muscular, joint, and headache. A useful oil to help boost mood, by easing stress, anxiety and feelings of depression. Reported to help boost the immune system, helping to treat fungal and other skin conditions and  easing symptoms of coughs & colds  and help to speed up the healing of wounds, as well as helping to reduce bleeding, help reduce perspiration and body odour,

Blends well with Basil, cedarwood, Coriander, Geranium, Jasmine    Lavender, Tea tree
