History
The fruit originated in Southeast Asia, and started making its way around the world from the 10th century. It is believed to have reached Spain in the 13th Century and from there is spread throughout Europe.
It is believed that Christopher Columbus took Lime fruits with him in 1493 which brought about the cultivation of the plant eventually reaching the USA in the 16th Century.
There have been reports that Lime oils were used to cleanse, purify & renew the spirit. It was also reported to have been used by Sailors in the 19th Century to help treat Scurvy
