Melissa, being so gentle on the skin, is an excellent choice when used in aromatherapy.. Due to its powerfiul anti- inflammatory properties, it may help to aid pain relief as well as helping to reduce fluid retention and fight bacterial infections and in turn helping to speed up the healing process of wounds and other skin conditions, such as eczema & acne. It is also reported to be very helpful for the treatment of cold sores.
Melissa also has strong anti-depressant properties, making it a good choice to help easing symptoms often associated with stress & anxiety , by promoting calmness but yet being uplifting at the same time..
