From a passion for aromatherapy to over 20 years of Calmer Solutions

Calmer Solutions began in 2003, not as an essential oil retailer, but through hands-on aromatherapy.

As a newly qualified aromatherapist, I began visiting residential homes for adults with learning difficulties, offering therapeutic massage and aromatherapy to the people living there.

That practical experience shaped everything that came afterwards — from the oils I wanted to use, to the standards I expected, and eventually to the business Calmer Solutions became.

Where It All Began

At the time, sourcing consistently good-quality essential oils was far more difficult than it is today. I wanted oils that I could trust and feel confident using in my own professional treatments.

That meant looking more carefully at where the oils came from, how they were produced, and whether their quality was consistent from one bottle to the next.

A Need for Better Oils

What began as a need for my own aromatherapy work gradually developed into something much bigger.

I started sourcing oils more carefully and building relationships with specialist suppliers and producers. As the range grew, so did the interest from other therapists and customers looking for dependable, good-quality aromatherapy products.

The same principles that mattered to me as a practising aromatherapist — quality, choice, value and products I would be happy to use myself — became the foundations of Calmer Solutions.

From Therapist to Supplier

Over time, the business developed beyond individual essential oils. Carrier oils, our own essential oil blends, natural butters, floral waters and other aromatherapy products gradually became part of the range.

Calmer Solutions began supplying not only professional aromatherapists and therapists, but also customers discovering and enjoying essential oils at home.

Although the business grew, the aim remained simple: to make good-quality aromatherapy products accessible, fairly priced and backed by genuine experience.

From the UK to Customers Around the World

Since those early beginnings, Calmer Solutions has supplied customers in 65 countries and shipped more than 2.5 million bottles.

From small 5ml bottles to larger professional and bulk sizes, every order represents somebody choosing to place their trust in Calmer Solutions.

We source essential oils and botanical products from specialist producers and suppliers, considering factors such as botanical species, country of origin, extraction method and overall quality.

Our oils are then bottled here in the UK in a range of sizes, allowing us to supply everyone from somebody buying their first bottle to experienced professional aromatherapists.

That connection between the products we supply and their practical use has remained important to us from the very beginning.

Growing More Responsibly

As Calmer Solutions has grown, so has our awareness of the impact a business can have on the environment.

We continue to look for practical ways to reduce waste, improve packaging choices and lower our environmental footprint.

Our own solar panels generate renewable electricity for our operations, and we continue to work towards making more responsible choices wherever we can.

For us, sustainability is not about making grand claims. It is about continuing to improve the things within our control.
